Pinnacles
The Anti Bird or Anti Climb Matting

WORKING INSTRUCTIONS

1. INSTALLATION
The decision whether to apply Pinnacles matting only to the leading edge of such places as coping stones, parapets or edges etc. can only be left to those evaluating or anticipating a particular or potential problem at first hand. The effectiveness of any treatment to prevent birds from settling or roosting only applied to those areas actually covered by such treatment.

Thus for instance narrow ledges upto approximately 150 mm wide may only require a single line of Pinnacles matting whereas wider ledges and large surface areas will require more than single line application if such areas are to be considered as being totally "bird proof".

Pinnacles therefore provides a solution to most bird problems but any installation advice expressed herewith can only be of a general and non specific nature for as there is no one reason why birds colonise a particular site and neglect another, there can be no one directive to cover all installation contingencies.

2. METHOD OF APPLICATION
Pinnacles housing is laid to the required length and can be cut to match odd sections etc. Fixing can be done with either screws, nails or adhesive. If adhesive is used it is advisable to apply a tract of adhesive to both outer edges along the entire length of the housing before seating and pressing the housing into position.

If possible it is better to let the adhesive dry before clipping in the mats although this is not imperative. The more porous the surface being treated the more liberal should be the amount of adhesive used. The adhesive is available from Building material Suppliers or directly from Hughes & Hughes Chem Limited.

Other adhesives can be used provided they are compatible with plastic and fabric of the site to which they are being applied, instructions as to method of use should be followed accordingly from supplier or adhesive.

Screws or nails should be of the countersunk type, and driven home so that the heads can not effect the seating of the mats.

Pinnacles mats can be screwed across the top or bottom surface and bent into shape of application to irregular contours and installed without housing if necessary. Thermal plastics become more flexible in warmer temperatures therefore on cold days it is advisable to warm mats before shaping.
