Snake-A-Way has a time release agent that allows it to remain effective for 2 months under normal weather conditions. Normal rainfall will not harm the product. When the odor of Snake-A-Way becomes faint, its effectiveness may be diminished. If this occurs during a season when snakes are active, retreat with enough of the repellent to restore the original odor intensity.

Application : If you are certain that an area is already snake free, using gloves, apply the Snake-A-Way in bands surrounding the areas to be protected. Use 5 to 6 inch bands for checkered garter snakes and a 10 to 12 inch band for rattlesnakes.

If snakes are present in the area to be protected, using gloves, lightly sprinkle the Snake-A-Way over the area and wait 48 hours to allow any snake in the area to escape (failure to do so may result in the product confining snakes in the area), then apply the Snake-A-Way in the previously described bands.

Using the described applications, one 4 pound container of Snake-A-Way will protect approximately a quarter acre lot with home from checkered garter snakes. For rattlesnakes, it will take 2-4 pound containers. Acre equivalents would be 4-4 pound containers for checkered garter snakes and 8-4 pound containers for rattlesnakes.
